At the start of every academic year, all freshmen at De Ruyter Academy in Vlissingen, The Netherlands receive overalls. In this way, the students can participate in the practical training of the education program in the machine room in a safe and uniform manner. This year, TOS was able to support the students with TOS overalls. Earlier this week, Isabelle van der Paal (Division Maritime) and Margreet van Waardenberg (Communication Manager) visited the beautifully situated academy to meet all the new students, introduce TOS and to hand over the TOS overalls. Peter Harts, coordinator for the program Maritime Officer, was delighted with this form of sponsoring. A message to the freshmen from Van der Paal: “We wish all the students a great time in Vlissingen and good luck studying for their bachelor degree”.

Introducing the Department Quality & Law
Situated at the 7th floor of our HQ, the Quality & Law department overlooks our homeport ‘Waalhaven’ in Rotterdam. The department serves as a knowledge centre for internal purposes and for our clients. It offers advice with regards to all kinds of law disciplines such as labour law, maritime law, tax law, social security regulations, etc. According to Marlena Holdermans (Executive Manager Finance, Quality & Law): ‘Our department is always in the frontline when it comes to industry standards, rules and regulations. We assist our clients when they start operating at new work locations or when they need to implement national or international regulations such as for example, the Maritime Labour Convention 2006. Our customers are being confronted with a continuously evolving legal climate and we try to support them as much as we can. We are responsible for drafting and/or reviewing the agreements that form the basis for providing our services, such as customized ship delivery agreements or (frame) agreements for crewing services.’
Empowering our loyal client Depasa with maritime services and legal advice
Gadi Ilan (CEO – Depasa Marine International): ‘Since 2007 our company has been running a large project in Nigeria, where we have been supplying all port services to the harbour of Lagos such as towage, dredging of the channels, wreck removal, navigational aids, etc. TOS has been our partner on this project from the start. TOS finds and provides the majority of the crew for the vessels that we operate, arranges the supply of spare parts, and has performed all ship delivery voyages on own keel for vessels that we have brought in throughout the project.’
Seafox and TOS entered Danish waters well prepared
TOS has a strong knowledge/database on maritime & offshore personnel with relevant education and certification. As a growing company, we benefit from this. Furthermore, their open communication is really appreciated by myself and team-members working closely with TOS. I would recommend TOS to other companies due to the fact they are knowledgeable and think in solutions, not problems.’
