WIND ENERGY TRADE MISSION POLAND ’22

The Wind Energy Conference (PWEA2022) took place in mid-June in Serock, Poland. Adam Libront, Offshore Wind Consultant at our Polish branch office, joined the Dutch delegation to Warsaw & Serock. The mission started at the Dutch Embassy in Warsaw so that all the Dutch delegates could meet each other. The Dutch companies used this trade mission to present their innovations that will help further Poland’s global offshore wind goals.

The Conference in Serock was a significant part of the mission to connect with interesting wind energy companies in Poland. Among the critical topics of this year’s conference were:

  • unavoidable climate change and the role of wind energy in the process of the energy transformation in Poland and Europe
  • the use of renewable energy for the large-scale production of green hydrogen and grid connection issues
  • business perspectives for investments
  • offshore wind energy, which will be essential in ensuring Poland’s energy security in the coming years

wind energy: cooperation between Polish and Dutch companies

“We also had a meeting with Minister Rob Jetten, the Dutch Minister of Climate and Energy. Minister Jetten came across as a very nice man. He spoke about cooperation between Polish and Dutch companies, future personnel training, and shortages in the market for upcoming projects. I want to thank the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Dutch Embassy in Warsaw for this opportunity. And, of course, all the delegates who made the Dutch mission a success!”, says Adam.

PWEA2022, The Polish Wind Energy Association Conference is the largest industry event in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to wind energy. For Poland, generating wind energy in the Baltic Sea is one of the best ways to achieve the energy transition. Poland intends to generate almost 6 GW (gigawatts) of offshore wind capacity by 2030. By 2040, it should be around 11 GW. After this, the capacity may even reach 28 GW, experts believe.

TOS specialises in supplying construction and maintenance teams for offshore wind installation and decommissioning projects in the North Sea, German Bight and Asia. These teams are used to working together and are trained to the highest industry standards. Are you interested in our business?
