The end of summer ‘15 marks the delivery of the state-of-the-art hybrid PSV called ESNAAD 221. TOS was honored to take on the project of assisting Shipyard De Hoop – a successful Dutch builder and designer of custom-built vessels – with the mobilization voyage of the ESNAAD 221 from Delfzijl, The Netherlands to her homeport Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2013 ESNAAD awarded Shipyard De Hoop with an order for ten state-of-the-art Platform Supply Vessels or PSV’s. TOS delivered the first vessel ESNAAD 221 this month in a flawless mobilization voyage.
The ESNAAD 221 will operate in the offshore oil and gas fields of the United Arab Emirates under the company ESNAAD, a subsidiary of the ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) Group. The PSV will provide the drilling and production platforms with drilling fluid, fuel, drinking water and project cargo to be transported by the ship on its 475-square-meter working deck.

Preparation at TOS HQ
Tim Spitters, Crewing Consultant at TOS said: ‘It really was a team effort to bring together an experienced and well-trained ship delivery crew for this most interesting PSV. Our HQ as well as our branch offices in Poland, Indonesia and the Czech Republic joined in to team up with the crew. Both of our clients, Shipyard De Hoop and ESNAAD, were very satisfied about the efforts and hands-on mentality of our ship delivery crew. A job well done!’ Earlier this year Spitters had already arranged a part of the crew for the vessel Prince Job 1 that was delivered by Shipyard De Hoop from Lobith, The Netherlands to the port of Lagos, Nigeria.
Captain Aad: ‘In August I conducted the sea trial of the ESNAAD 221; a marvelous vessel. Everything went well and the ship delivery voyage was planned within a week after the trial. Together with the representatives of Shipyard De Hoop, we handed over the vessel after a problem-free and smooth delivery, even with all the necessary piracy precautions taken. We sailed the high risk area (HRA) with appropriate security arrangements, all arranged for by TOS.’
