A worldwide sailing area, different deliveries done simultaneously, a dynamic department, the business is booming. The number of ship deliveries has once again reached a record high in the first half of this year. In addition to the regular ship deliveries, we are busy with the reactivation from lay up. A large number of ships around the world are laid up, sometimes for several years. With the economy recovering, there are new work opportunities for these ships. Clients are approaching TOS to reactivate their AHT(S), PSV and OSV and to return them to their home port. With our expanded team of superintendents and ship delivery crew, we are ready to take on this challenge!’ explains Thomas Wilbers, Business Manager Ship Management at TOS.
‘When a ship has been laid up, you can’t be sure of its condition. Sometimes we send our superintendent to do a pre-inspection. Together with the client, we discuss an appropriate activation period and budget. The ships receive a full technical examination. Depending on the state of the ship, this may take a few weeks. After a sea trial and the final storage & bunkering is done, the ship is ready to set sail! I see plenty of opportunities for growth in work vessels, passenger ships and tugs. With the expansion of our team, we are ready for many more ship deliveries to come!’
