Two climbers Vincent Schrijvershof (working for TOS) & Bas van Eijk who are sponsored by TOS were heading for the top of the Mont Blanc on Friday the 3rd of July. Unfortunately the weather changed drastically on the last part of the track on a height of 4510 meters. With the top in view and with only a one-hour climb to go they had to stop due to the weather. Their expedition was spectacular and gave TOS a perfect kick-off for “TOS was here”. The Mont Blanc
The Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Europe with its 4810 meters. Only few people have reached the top of Europe. Many attempts have failed by lack of preparation and bad planning. But most of all the climbers have to be in top shape! Above 3000 meters the air is getting thinner and thinner. Also the gear has to be of excellent quality to reach the top. In the summer the average temperature at the top is minus 20 degrees. And a strong wind will bring the temperature down very quickly.
