At the end of 2016, Marleen Stuurman, Executive Manager Operations at TOS, and Denis Monserand, Directeur Général Boluda France, signed a ship delivery and crewing contract. The cooperation concerns the ship delivery and crewing of three ASD harbour tugs in total. Stuurman and Monserand met last year at the ETA 2016 (European Tugowners Association) in Edinburgh, Scotland and the ITS 2016 Boston, which led to this cooperation.
Stuurman: ‘Kees Wagenaar, Managing Director at TOS and Mr Monserand have known each other for some time now. The tug sector is quite a small world, and they have crossed paths on many occasions. The cooperation started when Boluda France was looking for a specialist crew for harbour tug operations as well as crew change, planning and other HR services. After introducing our ship delivery services, the initial request for personnel was extended to include the delivery of all three vessels. TOS is specialised in the relocation of all types of vessels, especially ASD tugs.’
CREWING CONTRACT
With the ship delivery of the Albireo to Cameroon and the VB Sahel & the VB Sahara to Mauritania, the cooperation between TOS and Boluda France has really taken off. All three ASD tugs have arrived at their homeport. The ASD tug Albireo will be operating at the port of Limbe, Cameroon. Both the VB Sahel & the VB Sahara are stationed at the port of Nouadhibou, Mauritania. All ship delivery crews have finished their jobs and handed over the vessels to the new crew. ‘We are looking forward to running a smooth port operation for Boluda France’, says Stuurman.
