ALLROUND CAPTAIN PATRICK
‘I don’t think there is a single vessel that Patrik can’t sail. He started working for TOS in 2015 as a Chief Officer on a dredger. Patrik soon became the Captain, dredging harbours and rivers for one of our clients. Last year he started working as Captain on a multicat. Quite a different craft. But he is good at it. His main job: supplying and assisting our clients’ fleets plus harbour related maintenance such as removing obstructions from the seabed and placing new or refurbished buoys after dredging activities,’ says Rudolf Zak, Branch Manager at TOS Czech Republic. NO VESSEL HE CAN’T SAIL!
Captain Patrik: ‘I’m now Captain on a shoalbuster. We mainly do ploughing activities to level the seabed during/after dredging operations and deliver various items or bunker and supplies to the other vessels. All these jobs require a high level of skill and steady nerves as you have to deal with heavy traffic, strong currents and the responsibility over all the crew on board every day. But I love my job!
As you can see, I also like fishing. At home in Znojmo, Czech Republic, I often go fishing with my friends. We sleep for a couple of nights in a tent next to ponds or rivers and fish 24 hours a day. Near my home town, there are many opportunities to go fishing at private ponds or the rivers. To fish at the rivers, you need to pass an exam and pay a yearly membership fee to get the licence. After that, according to the fishing rules, you can take everything you catch.’ ALLROUND CAPTAIN PATRIK
