TOS OVERALLS FOR PRACTICAL TRAINING
For the seventh year in a row we are sponsoring the overalls at the Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz. We’re really proud of this at TOS! At the beginning of their studies, first-year students always receive new overalls. This year, TOS had the honour of providing them TOS overalls again. In this way, the students can participate in the practical training of the education programme in the machine rooms safely and uniformly. We wish all the students a great time and much luck studying for their bachelor degree.
DIFFERENT THAN USUAL, BUT NO LESS FUN!
Normally we go to the island of Terschelling to give a presentation about TOS and to take a nice group photo on location. Everyone in TOS overalls and looking forward to the new academic year. But this year it will be different. One advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic is that everyone has gone digital. Our colleagues Jeremy Stork and Jolie Seleba gave a presentation for the first year students on Teams. It was a brief story about who TOS is and what we do – not a bad idea when it’s on your back during the practicals for 4 years. We also received photos of students in their new TOS overalls. It was great getting an impression of the renovation like this. Thanks Marcel Krijnen! We closed the presentation with a fun maritime quiz. The winners were Geert, Stijn and Tim. They won a ‘bakkie pleur’ – slang for a cup of coffee – mug. The mugs are now on their way to Terschelling.
