‘The Baltic 1 project, an offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea, was one of my first big projects as ROV Pilot Technician. A new world full of super interesting equipment and, of course not to be forgotten, the Olympic Commander’s five-star accommodation. A proud moment, in which my dream to work offshore came true. Now I am working as Technical Superintendent at Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles, so back onshore again. I made the switch due to personal circumstances, but I’m still fully active in the ‘offshore world’, tells Mustafa El Gebory.
Sea2Shore: Growth opportunities
Mustafa: ‘Most offshore colleagues were TOS employees. In search of a new career move, I contacted Yteke Wentink, Onshore Recruiter at TOS. Her guidance and support was very professional. And, more importantly… the intake was pleasant and personal. The match made as Technical Superintendent was fantastic! I am closely involved with the preparation and execution of (de)mobilisation projects. Offshore experience is key in this position! So, offshore professionals: don’t wait to move onshore. Your practical experience is indispensable for offshore projects! Growth brings with it new challenges and new experiences. I am learning new things every day. I work with incredibly talented professionals, from whom I can learn a lot. And, as a result, I automatically create growth opportunities within Boskalis. What else can you wish for….‘
