Statoil to award deals soon
thuesday 16 Mar 2010
Statoil has confirmed that it will award contracts worth between 49 and 50 billion kroner in the second quarter of 2010.

The suppliers are competing for maintenance and modification deals on all of Statoil·s Norwegian installations.

"We have prequalified several companies and are now evaluating these, says information manager at Statoil Lars Bjelvin.  He did want to say how many companies prequalified.
"I cannot tell you how many they are, or which nationalities they have,"he said.

The companies will be divided into several frame agreements, one for each field.  The size of the individual frame contracts will therefore vary, since the various installations vary in size and in their need for upgrades.

Statoil·s vice president for procurement, Anders Opedal, said before Christmas that a supplier can be awarded multiple packages that can be combined.
