Chinas largest domestically built tank sets sail

Chinas largest domestically built oil tanker, Xinpuyang has left the Longxue Shipyard in Chinas southern Guangdong Province for its maiden voyage to Saudi Arabia.

The 333-metre-long vessel can carry up to 308,000 tonnes of crude oil and achieves a speed of 15.7 knots.
The vessel is equipped with satellite navigation, radar and a monitoring alarm system, and accommodation for 24 crewmembers.
Chen Liping, Manager of Longxue Shipyard, said that the yard would build another three of these tankers for the China Shipping (Group) Company.
